Art of Manduka

Hi! I´m Francis Sánchez, aka Manduka. I am a passionate and versatile illustrator and conceptual artist with a deep love for storytelling through visual creativity. With a strong foundation in art, I have developed my skills to create captivating and imaginative illustrations that bring narratives and concepts to life. My work is characterized by the capacity to adapt myself blending my knowledge in the architecture career with the concept art and illustration.

I’m in continuous learning, even in fields that are outside my own education. Creative, motivated, with initiative and willing to work in a team. Passionate about graphic design, painting, music, video games and especially role-playing games (the tabletop ones).

If you have any questions or something to tell me, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Music I like: mainly spanish rock, heavy and indie music. Although secretly I love what BTS and Stray Kids do (yep, I listen to everything).

Juegos favoritos: mmm… impossible to decide… Baldurs gate (all of them), Final Fantasy X, Horizon Zero Down, Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3, Commandos II, Metal Gear… and many, many indie games.

Artists I’m passionate about:  Robotpencil, Sinix Design, Ahmed Aldoori, Fernanda Suarez, Dibujante Nocturno, Alvaro Jimenez, Dave Rapoza, Jens Claessens, Darek Zabrocki, Loish, Jeremy Anninos, Esben Lash, Mike Azevedo, Dave Greco…. (I take a breath). I have an endless list of artists that I love, and I know more and more =D.

Did you study anything related to art?

I studied Architecture, so in principle I always had some training in art. However, my big leap was when I decided to do a Master in Concept art and Illustration (although until then I had already been drawing for years).

How long does it usually take you to make an illustration?

It really depends on the complexity of the illustration itself. Some simple characters I can finish in a matter of 4 hours (fully rendered) and other illustrations can take me weeks.
